The 437th Session of the Maryland General Assembly will begin on January 11, 2017.
In anticipation of this event, the Delegation met on December 6th to elect the officers for 2017. They elected:
Chairman, Delegate Pam Beidle
Vice Chair, Delegate Theodore Sophocleus
The Delegation has several Sub-Committees, they are:
Alcohol Sub-Committee: Delegate Theodore Sophocleus,
Chair Capital Budget Sub-Committee: Delegate Mark Chang,
Chair Education Sub-Committee: Delegate Ned Carey, Chair
The U. S. Department of Transportation has announced the "Maglev Scoping Period." The Maglev” project is an important issue to the Linthicum community. The path of the Maglev will come directly through the middle of Linthicum to get to BWI. Public scoping meeting dates are scheduled for:
Saturday, December 10 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Lindale Middle School
Monday, December 12 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Arundel Middle School, 1179 Hammond Lane, Odenton.
There is a great deal of support for this project both Federally and from our Governor. We need to be watchful and involved.
