Pamela G. Beidle
Delegate, District 32
Delegate, Pamela Beidle, was elected to represent District 32 on November 7, 2006. She was sworn in on January 10, 2007 to serve a four year term. Delegate Beidle serves on the Environmental Matters Committee. She is appointed to three subcommittees: Environment, Housing and Real Property,
Local Government and Bi-County. Delegate Beidle's experience in local government will provide valuable experience on this committee and these subcommittees.
Council Member, First District
Councilmember Pam Beidle was elected to the Anne Arundel County Council in November of 1998 to represent the First District. Her second term ended November 2006. Councilmember Beidle focused on education issues, balanced commercial growth and revitalizing the aging communities in the First District. Beidle was a consistent and committed supporter of fire and police service. In 2001 Councilmember Beidle graduated from the Academy for Excellence in Local Governance at the University of Maryland.
Professional Career
Beidle’s professional career as a representative of Nationwide Insurance and Financial Services began in 1979. She is the President of the Beidle Insurance Agency, an agency that provides personal and business insurance and offers a variety of financial services. In 1998 Pam had the distinguished honor of being one of seven agents to serve on the President’s Advisory Council. In 2004 Beidle joined the Arundel Federal Savings and Loan as a Director and currently chairs the Compliance Committee.
Community Involvement
Beidle is a native of Anne Arundel County and is active in the community, she currently serves as a board member for the Hospice of the Chesapeake, the Local Interagency Coordinating Council, and the North County High School Business Advisory Board and was appointed to be a member on the Joint Committee on School Construction.
Before being elected to public office, Pam completed a three-year term as a board member of Archbishop Spalding High School, a four-year term as a board member of the Anne Arundel County Economic Development Corporation and three years on the Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce Board. Pam was Vice-Chair of the Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN) for 1998. Pam and her family are active members of Holy Trinity Church and two terms as a boardmember with Leadership Anne Arundel. She was a Citizenship Merit Badge Counselor for the Boy Scouts and is the proud parent of two Eagle Scouts. Pam is also a member of the Woman’s Club of Linthicum.
As a member of Holy Trinity, Pam served as a bereavement facilitator for the New Day Program and instructed altar servers and lectors in their parish responsibilities. While participating in Leadership Anne Arundel Pam’s Small Group worked with the Clay Street Business community to help them reach success in their new business endeavors and she later volunteered with the LAA “Just Lunch” group mentoring students at Hilltop Elementary.
Awards and Recognitions
The Nationwide Insurance Corporate Service Award was awarded to Pam in March of 1997 for her participation in building the Betty Jean and Creston G. Tate Foundation Chesapeake Hospice House. This award is presented each year to one of Nationwide's 4700 agents. In January of 1998 Pam was awarded the Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce's Businessperson of the Year. Leadership Anne Arundel presented Pam with the Distinguished Alumni Award in June of 1998 and the Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce President’s Award for Excellence in January 2003. Pam is a recipient of the Fannie Lou Hamer Award and the Legislator of the year award from the Annapolis and Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce.
Pam holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Towson University in Business Administration Management and an Associate Degree from Anne Arundel Community College. She is a 1996 graduate of Leadership Anne Arundel. Pam and her husband, Lenny, live in Linthicum, they have three grown children, Nicholas, Nathan and Lyndsey.
